Welcome to the Wilmington Diocese Catholic Engaged Encounter website.  Here you will find some information about our mission, our schedule of weekend events, directions to our facility, and some instructions for your weekend retreat.

Our mission is to provide an insightful and inspiring weekend retreat that will help you and your fiance on the road to preparing your life together.

To accomplish this we conduct Two (2) weekend retreats a year.  The weekend starts on Friday night.  Please arrive no later than 7:30 PM on Friday.  We start Promptly at 8PM. We will introduce the couples that will be leading the weekend as well as introducing everyone to each other.  The weekends are very structured so the most benefit can be gained with the limited amount of time we have.  The basic structure is as follows:

Couples will share with you different themes, subjects and issues in marriage today.   There will be two married couples and they will present real life scenarios and situations they have encountered in their own marriage.  There are no actors ( but some real characters!) who have faced the same real situations you may be going through in your lives.

After each presentation you will have time alone as couple to discuss some questions.  This is not a test.  The questions are designed to make you look at yourselves critically and help to organize your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs of marriage.  You will be amazed at what you will learn about yourself and your future spouse.

Breaks and meals will be provided, as well as time for you to get to know the other couples.  There are also different games and exercises we do to give some variety to the weekend..
